Bright kitchen with painted cabinetry and a tiled backsplash

Kitchen cabinet refinishing

The same kitchen, a different colour.

Doors come off, get degreased, sanded and sprayed, then go back on. No boxes replaced, no kitchen torn out.

Why refinish instead of replace

The carcasses in most kitchens are sound. What dates a kitchen is the colour and the finish on the doors, and those are the parts that can be changed without pulling the room apart.

Sprayed, not brushed

Doors are sprayed off site so the finish lays down flat, with no brush marks along the rails and stiles. Hinges and hardware go back exactly where they came from.

Recent work

Kitchens refinished, not replaced.

How it goes

Off, sprayed, back on.

1

Labelled and removed

Every door and drawer front is numbered so it returns to the opening it came from.

2

Degreased and sanded

Kitchen doors carry cooking grease. Skipping this is why refinished cabinets peel.

3

Primed and sprayed

Bonding primer, then finish coats sprayed for a flat, even surface.

4

Rehung

Hardware refitted, doors adjusted, and the frames cut in to match.

Questions

About cabinet work.

Mostly yes. The doors are away being sprayed, so the openings are bare for a few days, but the kitchen stays usable.

It depends what the doors are made of and what is on them now. Tell us over the phone and we will say honestly whether refinishing is the right call.

Thinking about the kitchen?

Call and describe the cabinets. We will give you a quote for the work.
